Today's exploration will feature a lecture by Hartt Professor of Music Education Demaris “Dee” Hansen on the history of The Hartt School, which is celebrating its centennial. Dee has written a beautiful book on the history of the School that was published in January, with a book launch scheduled for February 14, 2020, at the University of Hartford.

In her presentation to the Musical Club, Dee will draw upon materials from her book, making use of the many anecdotes she discovered during her research. A Question & Answer session moderated by Hartt Dean Larry Alan Smith will follow. A celebratory "Valentine's Day" reception is planned.

Autographed copies of Professor Hansen's new book will be available for sale. The price is $25. Purchasers will need to pay with cash or check (payable to "The Hartt School"). We will not be able to accept credit cards.

Note that this event will take place in the Church's Fellowship Hall (not the Sanctuary).
